Getting to Utila

The main airport in Honduras is San Pedro Sula, from the USA the main airlines which fly to San Pedro are TACA, Continental (via Houston) & American (via Miami).

There are two local airlines which fly between San Pedro Sula and Utila; SOSA & Atlantic, it is a short 20 minute flight to La Ceiba and then a 10 minute flight to Utila. Both airlines have two flights per day: 6.30 am and 3.30 pm approximately (these are small airlines and the times can change day to day but are around these times.

From La Ceiba you can also get a ferry to Utila. The Utila Princess makes two trips per day at approximately 9.30 am and 4.00 pm. It is a one and a half hour trip to Utila. In low season they go down to one trip per day at 4.00 pm.

There is a Tourist Information Office behind the Utila Princess ticket office at the La Ceiba docks. This office is run by the Honduras Institute of Tourism and provides a free Utila hotel reservations service. Most Hotels and accommodations are less than 15 minutes walk from the Utila Municipal Docks and rooms are around $6 per room per night.
